Our aim is to help close the social attainment gap by recruiting a global community of academic talent to make effective online teaching more accessible than ever before. To achieve this goal we recruit and train academic talent from across Sri Lanka and India, creating jobs and opportunities to teach children in schools across the UK.


Since 2013 we have recruited over 1000 tutors, who have taught 800,000 sessions to 50,000 children.

Responsibilities


Your main responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate, monitor and improve the Teaching & Learning standards of our in-house mathematics tutors.
  • Identify & analyze the training needs of our tutor community.
  • Evaluate tutor performance through robust data analysis.
  • Design and implement tutor training programmes based on needs analysis.
  • Provide leadership to our quality assurance and training & development teams.
  • Overall management of the Academic department.
  • People management of the Training & Development team (currently 2 Assistant Managers)and Quality assurance team (approx. 20 members within an organized hierarchy).
  •  Observe training delivery & give feedback to in-house trainers.
  • Improve the Teaching & Learning evaluation skills of quality assurance team members in line with the current evaluation framework.

Profile

Must-have requirements:

  • UK qualified teacher status; Primary or Secondary Mathematics, with a solid understanding of pedagogy and the UK primary mathematics curriculum.
  • Experience in mentoring/coaching others in an education setting (formal lesson observations &giving structured feedback). You love learning. You get a kick out of helping others develop. You’re patient. You have excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional intelligence.
  •  A proven track record of incorporating ICT into classroom teaching.
  • A strong self-drive to succeed. You love proactively taking on difficult challenges and finding creative solutions. You adapt quickly and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • A strong sense of responsibility. You’re going to take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly make a difference.
